Pastoral Job Opening:
Midway Mennonite Church in Columbiana, Ohio is seeking a pastor to lead our church. We are a historic rural/suburban church in an area blessed with several Anabaptist churches. The Mahoning and Columbiana County communities are diverse and within commuting distance of Youngstown, Salem, Boardman, and several other growing areas. We are looking for applicants with a love for people who enjoy meeting and forming relationships with people from all walks of life. Midway also seeks applicants with gifts in administration and preaching and who can affirm the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PASTORAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Pastor will be responsible for:
LEADERSHIP
o Working closely with the Midway Leadership Team and Church Board to facilitate the vision, mission, and goals of the congregation.
o Overseeing the overall spiritual health of the church and its ministry areas.
o Building relationships with church members and new attendees. This in turn will help equip and disciple the congregation in the use of their gifts in ministry.
WORSHIP
o Preach a sermon every Sunday. With input and approval from the Midway Leadership Team, the Pastor may occasionally arrange for a guest or ministry program to provide the sermon portion of a Sunday Service.
o Be actively involved in worship and planning, working alongside the worship service team.
o Coordinate the weekly worship service.
PASTORAL CARE
o Provide crisis and high need visitation.
o Pastoral and pre-marital counseling
o Plan and provide for other functional events (e.g. weddings, funerals, baptisms, dedications, etc.)
DISCIPLESHIP
o Plan and provide instructional classes (e.g. membership, baptismal, etc.)
o Work with the Adult Discipleship and Children & Youth Service teams to coordinate their respective curriculum.
o Educate and disciple the church in spiritual formation, calling members and others to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
OUTREACH & SERVICE
o Encourage church members to develop their spiritual gifts and attempt to provide avenues whereby members are enabled to use their gifts within and beyond the congregation.
o Help identify community needs and missional opportunities.
ADMINISTRATION
o Establish consistent office hours when the Pastor is available to meet or talk with church members.
o Communicate with the church Office Manager on items that need to be conveyed to church members and others through the church bulletin and other means of communication.
o Attend and participate in scheduled Church Board Meetings
o Prepare a Pastor’s year-end report for the Annual Church Member’s Meeting.
o Attend LMC pastor peer meetings and other events member churches are expected to attend. Participate with other local ministerial groups.
